Students at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon have successfully revived their school's student newspaper after a 16-year absence. The Benson Orbit, which ceased publication in 2010 due to budget constraints, returned to print through the efforts of a journalism club established earlier this year.

The newspaper originally ended operations during widespread education budget cuts that affected many extracurricular programs across Oregon schools. District financial pressures at the time forced administrators to eliminate numerous student activities, with school newspapers among the casualties.
